Sri Andal, also known as Goda Devi, is one of the most revered saints and poets in the Vaishnavite tradition of Tamil Nadu. Born in Srivilliputhur, she is the only female among the twelve Azhwars, the mystic devotees of Lord Vishnu. Andal is celebrated for her unmatched devotion to Lord Vishnu, whom she envisioned as her divine consort.

Her compositions, Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Thirumozhi, are profound expressions of her love and devotion, filled with lyrical beauty and spiritual wisdom. Thiruppavai, in particular, is sung during the Tamil month of Margazhi and is a cornerstone of Vaishnavite liturgical tradition.
